120 km of the Dolomites

- Explore the most beautiful trails -

Anterselva

"The wind gently rustles in the highest treetops, and the timberwork of the old farmhouses quietly creaks. Otherwise, not a sound.  It is tranquil in the Valle Anterselva-Antholzertal. The wild woods slowly beguile the meadows with bittersweet fragrance. Moors, riparian forests, and landscapes such as the Rasner Möser biotope lovingly mark the area. And further up, at the limits of the timberline, is the beginning of the alpine landscape in its wonderful wildness."

Anterselva valley is above everything else but the valley of cross country skiing and biathlon sports. The Biathlon Center, along with the “Arena Alto Adige” in Anterselva di Sopra - Antholz Obertal, is the venue for the World Cup competition.

Our accommodation was in Sesto/Sexten, but it is only 30 min by car to reach Anterselva Valley. It easily becomes a half day trip to enjoy the beauty and perfectly arranged trails on inside and outside the Anterselva Biathlon stadium. If you are cross country skiing lover this place it is a must, especially because of the beautiful and calm nature.

Val Fiscalina

-a valley of outstanding natural beauty -

This trail we love the most. Impressive rock formations of this UNESCO World Heritage of the Dolomites takes your breath away each time of visiting this beautiful valley. The scenery is just perfect in every weather conditions. We've put the car at the Bad Moos and it took us 30 minutes to reach the upper end of the trail. The rounded trip from Bad Moos through the Three Peaks Nature Park to the Rifugio Fondo Valle hut will take you around 50-60 minutes. Even it is just 5,5 km long in one direction, you can easily feel your breath straight away. The way back is easier than climbing up, as the trail is a bit tense all the way up. But there is almost no effort needed to return back to the starting point.

Scenes from the trail

Dobbiaco is renowned as an international World Cup competition venue. Whether you are training for a ski marathon, testing your limits on the FIS-homologised slopes, or prefer to do your rounds on floodlit tracks at night time (from Christmas onwards daily from 6 p.m. - 8 p.m.) - here you will definitely find the right cross-country track for your requirements. The Nordic Arena in Dobbiaco is the ideal setting for beginners, but also an ideal starting point for various tough cross-country routes.

We've started at Nordic arena via Lago di Dobbiaco along the road to Cortina d'Ampezzo.

15 km trail ends with the perfect view towards Tre Cime mountains range. To round up our daily dose of kilometers, we've also made a trail marked with a black color on the map. It is a perfect trail to raise the heartbeat pulse as it has several step climbs and rounded downhills parts (known as a 15km World Cup race track).

Entry fee: 8 € / per person per day

Cross country trail Dobbiaco - Prags goes along the main valley all the way from Versciaco via Villabassa towards Prags / Lago di Braies.

It's a typical valley trail with the wide views all across the Alta Pusteria valley. Round trip is approximately around 20 km long. The trail is relatively  flat with some short steep climbs in between but perfect for all kind of x-country enthusiasts, who can't stand on the rounded stadium tracks.

Entry fee: There is no specifically a place to buy a ticket, but it is always good to have 8 € with you as the price is always the same no matter where you enter and how much time you spent on the trails later on.
